About Ruth

Helping parents raise happy little eaters — one mealtime at a time.

Hi, I’m Ruth — a children’s nutritionist, mum of two, and the heart behind Happy Little Eaters.
I’ve spent years guiding families through the ups and downs of fussy eating, mealtime stress, and confusing food advice. But more importantly — I’ve lived it too.

In our home, there are no ‘clean your plate’ rules. No battles. No pressure. Just real food, a relaxed table, and two little girls who are learning to trust their bodies, try new things, and enjoy mealtimes (most of the time — we’re human too!).

What I Believe

I believe children don’t need separate “kids’ food.”
I believe that mealtimes should feel calm — not like a warzone.
And I believe that even busy, overwhelmed parents can feed their children well — with the right support.

My Approach

I’m trained in evidence-based approaches like:

  • The Division of Responsibility (sDOR)

  • Responsive Feeding

  • The SOS Approach to Feeding

Everything I do is grounded in these methods

Why I Created Happy Little Eaters

I created Happy Little Eaters because I kept meeting parents who were doing their best… but felt lost.
Parents who had tried all the tips from social media. Who were told “they’ll eat when they’re hungry” but didn’t feel confident about waiting it out.

This isn’t just about nutrition. It’s about helping parents feel calm and confident again.

You deserve clear, practical advice from someone who gets it — not judgment, guilt, or generic tips.
